Disney World Day 2

November 19, 2016

Day two, which was Halloween, started out at Animal Kingdom and ended past midnight at Magic Kingdom at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I mean, what better way to spend Halloween night than at the happiest place on earth at the funnest Halloween party ever dressed as a family of super heroes! The party was so great. Very very crowded at first, and a little dicey, but after the fireworks it started to clear out and it felt like we had the park to ourselves. We walked right on rides, got TONS of candy, and had a special character meet with Belle at Gaston’s Tavern. It was the very end of the night and we saw the line was short to get pictures so we hopped in line. We were told we were the last for the night. Whoo… well Jilly was afraid to go up to Belle b/c Gaston was there too and he’s a villain. Jilly doesn’t like villains. Well, Belle walked over to her, knelt down to her sitting in the stroller, and coaxed Jilly over. She took her hand and it was so sweet. Belle took her time and they had a nice, special moment. Definitely a memory I won’t forget.

Easter 2016

April 1, 2016

Sunday, March 27th was a double duty holiday for us this year. It was Easter and Mike’s birthday. The kids got goodies from the Easter Bunny and a few special things from Mom and Dad. Mike bought/downloaded a fighter pack to the Wii U for Super Smash Bros. We told the boys they had one more gift to find. They looked for something hidden and gave up. When they finally decided to play the game, they noticed the upgrade and were VERY happy boys. Jillian was thrilled to finally get a PINK booster seat for the van.

My Dad and Deb came over for dinner, then my mom, Steve, and my sister and her family came over for an egg hunt. The kids love this. Each kid has their own color so we can make it harder for the big kids and not so tough for the littles. Owen got the golden egg and was over the moon happy.

We got to sing Happy Birthday to Mike and we had to light the candles several times for Sal & Jillian. They wanted to take turns blowing them out. Finally the big guy got his turn.

All in all it was a nice day. Wish we had more of an Easter Break, but any holiday with all 6 of my favorite kids is a good one.

December Wrap Up

January 2, 2016

December was a month full of getting ready for Christmas and the start of basketball for both boys. We also celebrated my brother Dan’s 30th Birthday and of course the annual Park Family Christmas.

Benny had 4 baskets in his first game. He did great!

Hard to believe they were playing baseball in the backyard w/o coats in December.

Family Feud.

This fun game you play with your phone. You can’t see the word, but those around you have to try to get you to guess it w/o saying it. The kids were good!

Christmas 2015

December 27, 2015

We had another nice traditional Thomas Christmas Day relaxing in our PJs. Lots of fun had playing with new toys. Big hits this year were the Wii U, new 49′ TV for the Wii Room, Play Dough, Benny’s Flat Brim Hat (mom finally caved into the trend), and the Frozen Microphone.

A funny from this Christmas was we wrapped Owen’s Steph Curry jersey in a gag box that was a fake advertisement for a video game in which you did chores…like rake leaves, clean the cat litter, etc. We weighted the box down with 2 bags of M&Ms. The kid really thought it was the video game and when he opened the box he thought the bags of M&Ms wrapped up in tissue paper was cat litter and he threw it across the room! HA HA! Once he saw this jersey he got it, but was it ever funny.

Oh and so in years to come I don’t forget… this was an odd Christmas weather wise. It was 70 degrees on Christmas eve. Sleeveless dress for Jillian and polos for the boys. No jacket required. We were a far cry from a white Christmas.

We hope you all had a wonderful day too. Happy Holidays!

November Recap

December 1, 2015

Here is are some other moments from our months of November:

Jillian was Maxie’s lap person.

Then Maxie was my lap dog…at her old age she still thinks she weighs 20 pounds and is a small dog!

It doesn’t happen often, but I love when I get to be home and get the boys off the bus.

I wish I got to welcome these goonies home everyday.

All ready for football Sunday. Go Steelers!

Night out with the boys for wings. Benny’s favorite.

And a night out with the boys means a trip to Dick’s. Tossing football in the aisle.

Jilly’s turn for a day out with Mom and Dad. She asked me to take her picture with Daddy on the big red ball at Target.

At the mall she saw a cross body bag just her size and had to have it to be like Mommy.

Being a kid today is so different than when we were younger. No talking on the phone with friends. They Facetime!

I’d had been wanting to do this forever… I almost forgot but I pulled my old cheerleading uniform out from when I was 2 years old. I tried it on Jilly when she was 2 but it was way too big. Got it out again and this time it fit…a tad too short, but it’s neat to see her in something I wore when I was little.

And this people is why I always look so tired. This furball won’t leave me alone at night!

To get into the holiday spirit we took a trip to Koziar’s Christmas Village. We haven’t been there since Benny was 2. Needless to say, Lights and decorations don’t impress the boys like they use to, but Jillian liked it!

Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2015

This year we had Owen as Derek Jeter, Jilly as Dorothy, and my Benjamin was all about the Benjamins as the $100 bill. Owen ran to catch up with some friends so he didn’t trick or treat with us this year. Sad moment for this mom. A big sign that he is growing up. He had a blast though. We lost him in our maze of a neighborhood, but he was safe with parents of a friend. Scared me for a moment, but I’m glad he enjoyed himself and had a great time.

Jilly and Ben’s costumes were big hits. Everyone loved how Jilly’s dress and shoes sparkled and that her dress swung from side to side as she walked. Ben’s costume got big thumbs up for originality. He got comments if they could deposit him into their checking account, if he could make change for a $100, etc. It was great!

The Fourth – Family Style

August 23, 2015

We were suppose to go to Pittsburgh for the 4th, but our busy schedules and the forecast for rainy weather had us make a change of plans. We cancelled our hotel reservation, built a fire pit in the back yard, and had the whole family over to celebrate.

The Littles. All decked out in red, white, blue.

Jenny made all the kids 4th tie dyed shirts. Jilly had one too, but she wanted to keep on her dress.

Corn hole.

Benny’s 360 razor bike was a hit.

We even brought up the basketball game from the basement.

Croce brought some fireworks for the kids to enjoy.

Benny was scared of the noise and Roman was there to let him know it will be OK.

Maxie wanted to know what the commotion was about out front

Moving the festivities out back for a “cook out” – aka: camp fire. For some odd reason our kids call it a cook out.

Brothers.

Memorial Day 2015

May 29, 2015

Last year for Memorial Day we went to Knoebels for Sal’s 3rd birthday and we did it was so much fun we did it again this year for his 4th. Jillian was under the weather so she said home with Mike and I took the two boys. I think it was the first time in 9 years that I went to an amusement park without a diaper bag, kid in diapers, and a stroller. It was freeing. I didn’t even take a good camera. I just used my phone.

We let the big boys off the leash this year and let them roam the park sans parents. We gave them check in times and places and they were there each time. I was proud of Alex and Owen. They had a lot of fun together, just the two of them. I took Benny and Roman around the park. Taking Benny to amusement parks is tricky. He’s not a thrill seeker by any means and still likes the kiddie rides but he’s too tall for almost all of them. He didn’t want to ride the Merry Mixer, but Roman was too short to ride on is own so he sucked it up. I thought he loved it but he said it was too fast for him! Ha! I really enjoyed my time with the Middles. I don’t get to spend much time with them, especially Benny, so it was nice to have a carefree afternoon with them.

It was a great way to kick off summer. I’m sure we’ll be back again soon.

Hard to believe Sal is 4!

The 5 boys.

Best buddies.

The Middles.

He was so excited for… Ninja Turtle bubbles and his Ninja Turtle coloring kit. ¬†The cheapest things in the bag I got him. ūüėČ

Time for fun, food and fantasy!

Roman wasn’t tall enough to ride alone. ¬†He told Benny – “We are both 7, but we are not the same size!”

Conversations on the train.

I have a picture of the two of them in this same spot in 2009 in strollers.  Boy have they grown.

See 2009 post here.

Me and my baby boy.

Don’t have many pics of the two of us so this is special.

Easter 2015

April 26, 2015

The kids enjoyed Easter this year. ¬†It was a simple day. They went through their baskets to see what goodies the Easter bunny brought and saw a few small gifts from mom and dad on the foyer table in the homework room. They boys were very excited for their Sklylanders and Nerf Basketball hoops. ¬†Jillian kept saying all she wanted from the Easter Bunny was chocolate, clothes and chapstick. ¬†She was very happy to get all 3 and had to check out her new chapstick flavors right away. Jilly also has a new found love for the Ninja Turtles so the Easter Bunny brought her Ninja Turtle shirts, bows, a toothbrush and Raphael bubbles (he’s her favorite). She was all smiles.

Later in the afternoon, Mike and Owen went golfing with my Dad. O did great. He shot 61 at Dauphin Highlands. ¬†I felt bad for the other two kiddos that we were just sitting around the house so we got ready and went to the park. ¬†Benny was determined to get across the monkey bars. ¬†He tried and tried several times when we were there and just as we were getting ready to go he finally made it across. ¬†Ben and Jillian were very good at the park, so on the way home we stopped for slushies and snack and went home and watched Big Hero 6 (a present from the bunny in Ben’s basket).

Later that night we went to Grammy & PeePaws for dinner.  On the walk there the kids decided to hold hands all on their own. So sweet.

Oh and while at Grammy & PeePaw’s, Owen and Ben were wrestling around and Owen knocked Ben’s loose top tooth out. He’s now toothless on top! ¬†A fun memory from Easter 2015.

March Recap

April 13, 2015

We had a busy March. We did a lot of painting – or I should say Mike did. My dad and I helped but he did the bulk of the work. Our bathroom, the ceiling in the kitchen and family room, and the kitchen walls and family room walls. When we moved in, we never really did anything with the space but toss in old furniture and decor from the old house. Now we we finally made it a new space that fit the feel of the house. We love it. But those projects kept me from blogging and taking more pictures with my phone than my camera!

So, here is the recap of March:

I took Owen on a date to Chinese.

We got some fresh air out on the deck.

We went to Dairy Queen for their “Free Cone Day”.

We colored and stamped in the homework room.

The boys started baseball practice. Benny is back in action.

We got our March Madness brackets ready. All of us picked Duke in at least one of our brackets. Go Blue Devils.

Jillian drew her first family portait. There are 7 smile faces because she wanted to inlcude the cat & dog.

Jillian had an Easter Egg hunt with her school daycare.

Jillian and her BFF Kyla.

We celebrated Mike’s 35th.

We had a Park Family Easter Egg Hunt with all the kids.
One of these things is not like the other! Ha ha! 9 boys. 1 Girl.

The kids going through all their loot!
