Blizzard

January 25, 2016

They weren’t joking when they foretasted over a foot of snow in 24 hours. I have no idea how much we ended up with, but it was a lot. Like, stuck inside your house and can’t leave until it stops kind of snow. We took it easy. Watched TV and movies, baked brownies, played video games, and napped. It was kind of nice having no where to go and just be able to be home.

Once the storm calmed we went out to play in the snow. I didn’t last long. I slipped on the driveway and went flat on my bum. Oh my the pain. The Blizzard of 2016 ended with me bruising my tail bone really bad, but I survived. I just wish the storm would have happened on a weekday and not a weekend. I’m all about days when work has to close and I get to stay home with my family w/o taking a vacation day!

Farm Show Friday

January 20, 2016

Mike and I had a scheduled day off work last week and it happened to also be the Friday of the PA Farm Show. The boys were in school so Mimi, Mike and I took Jilly to see all the animals, exhibits and get some yummy food. Jilly had so much fun. She cried when it was time to leave. But she really enjoyed her pink milkshake, riding the carousel, petting cows, horses, bunnies and several other animals, and seeing all the various stands. The farm show didn’t disappoint and we’re already excited for next year to go back for milk shakes and deep fried cheese (one of the most yummy foods I’ve ever had)!

Family Photo Shoot

January 18, 2016

I have been waiting for years to hire a professional photographer to take our family pictures. I wanted to make sure the kids would cooperate before I took the chance. This year was looking promising, so I took the chance. The session didn’t go as smoothly as planned. The big kid ended up giving us the most problems when usually it’s the younger two. But, the end result was good. Linz Hester Photography did a great job. Here are a few of my favorites.

December Wrap Up

January 2, 2016

December was a month full of getting ready for Christmas and the start of basketball for both boys. We also celebrated my brother Dan’s 30th Birthday and of course the annual Park Family Christmas.

Benny had 4 baskets in his first game. He did great!

Hard to believe they were playing baseball in the backyard w/o coats in December.

Family Feud.

This fun game you play with your phone. You can’t see the word, but those around you have to try to get you to guess it w/o saying it. The kids were good!

Paulus Orchard

January 1, 2016

As 2015 has come to an end, I’m trying my best to blog October, November and December.

Every Columbus Day we have off work and the kids have off school so we try to use the day for a fun family activity and it’s usually the Farm. This year we decided to go to the Orchard instead of the Farm for something different and it was a good decision because the Orchard had more for bigger kids. We went with good friends of ours and their kids and we all had a great time. The weather was beautiful, the air was fresh, and lot of laughs were heard. A great day indeed.
