T-ball has kicked off

March 31, 2012

The Green Monsters are back. It’s T-ball time. Owen really wanted to play t-ball again, so we said sure thing. Mike is also back as coach, so it’s nice that the two of them get to spend quality time together.

Just like last year I took pictures of him before he left for his first practice. I loved so many I couldn’t narrow it down. That smile never gets old. I just can’t believe he is so big already.

I almost forgot to report on Jillian’s 6 month check up. Well, it was really 6 1/2 months…were off by a few weeks from her getting sick at her 4 month check up and shots have to be given exactly a certain time period apart.

Anyway… here are Little Bit’s stats… or should I say Big Bit:

Weight: 18 lbs 3oz (80th percentile)
Height: 27 inches (80th percentile)
Head: 16.9 inches (56th percentile)

Once again, she is almost the same weight as Owen was at this age. He was 18 lbs 1oz. I’m sure if we weighed Jillian at exactly 6 months, she would have been the same as O. Now, for me she seems small. And you’re probably wondering how I can think she is small when she is in the 80th percentile. Well, Benny was actually BIGGER than that at 4 MONTHS! Yes, that is not a typo. Benny was that big at 4 months. He was 18 pounds and 27.5 inches. He was also crawling and pulling himself up in his crib at 6 months old. I’m very happy Jillian is taking things at a slower pace.

Now that she can sit up she loves the crinkle of the paper on the table.

She also loves chewing on her new cupcake toy and shaking it to hear it rattle.

6 Month Portraits

March 25, 2012

Last weekend I got all my photo stuff set up and started to take Jillian’s 6 month pictures. She did so well. I was going to take a second round with some different outfits and a different background, but when I just sat down this morning to edit the ones I took, there are so many I love, it’s not worth it. I’ll just wait and do another photo shoot in a few weeks.

I love taking this little girls picture. She makes it so easy. I just hope she continues her love for my camera because she’s an amazing subject to photograph. Here are my favorites so far. I know I will probably have more to post when I get through the rest.

Friday Flashback

March 23, 2012

My friend Andee and I were both pregnant at the same time back in 2007/2008 with our little boys who were born 6 weeks apart. Ian and Ben have pretty much grown up together. They even go to school together.

Here are they back in July 2009 having dinner together on the deck.

Here are they last night having dinner on the deck. Look how they have grown into such handsome boys.

I hope they stay buddies forever!

I love everything about this little girl.

How can you resist this smile.

YEAH – Maxie kisses on Valentine’s Day!

With my two Valentine’s… it’s early in the morning before school so we’re all still a little tired.

Mommy – what do you think of this hat?

She bounced herself tired in her jumperoo.

First Foods

March 8, 2012

As promised, here are pictures from Jillian’s first time eating food from a spoon. It was oatmeal and she didn’t do too bad. We have also fed her prunes, which she gobbles up, and we made our own homemade squash baby food using our Baby Bullet which she doesn’t seem to mind. I’m glad we waited until closer to 6 months. There is no way she would have been ready prior to then.

After Mike and I fed her, we let her chomp on the spoon and somehow she ended up with cereal on her foot. =) She’ll probably be a messy eater like her brothers.

Oh and speaking of her brothers, Benny thinks the baby cereal is disgusting. He’ll say “Ewwwww… Jillian is going to eat the yucky food now.” Little does he know he LOVED it as a baby.

Jillian – 6 months

March 6, 2012

6 months. Jillian is ½ a year old. How can it be that she is now closer to one than newborn. =( I’m officially in denial that my baby is growing up.

She is my last so I want to really soak in EVERYTHING and I feel like my baby sponge is only ¾ of the way full. There are so many things I wanted to do that I never got around to. Nothing major, but little things I wish I would have done while she was still itty bitty. The one thing I wish I would have done is take more pictures of her and I together and take more videos of her when she was making all those sweet newborn sounds. I just need to make up for lost time over these next 6 months before she turns a year old. This first year is just going so fast. At least she isn’t progressing at the rate Benny did. During his 6th month he started crawling and pulling himself up in his crib. Jilly is nowhere near that.

She’s getting big. I’m guessing she is pushing 18 pounds. We’ll find out when she goes in for her 6 month checkup. We had to pack away the 3 to 6 months clothes over the past few weeks and break out the 6 to 9. She’s very true to size with clothes.

We are still cloth diapering and it’s fabulous. I am so glad I decided to take the plunge and dive in head first to the cloth diapering world with this baby. It’s been such a rewarding (and addicting) experience. Not only is it better for the environment, but we’ve never had a diaper rash and I just feel better knowing her bum is in a soft cover… not in a disposable full of chemicals.

She’s a happy little camper. She wakes up smiling and goes to bed smiling. She’s such a doll. The only time she isn’t happy is when you are wiping her nose or putting clothes over her head. She thinks it’s the end of the world and holds her breath. Poor thing.

Over her fifth month she…
– Started solid food with oatmeal cereal from a spoon.
– Cut her first two teeth.
– Had her first bad cold.
– Started sitting up on her own.
– Rolled from her belly to her back.
– Went bowling and to the arcade for her brother’s birthdays.
– Went shopping several times. She is in training to be a good bargain shopper.
– Visited Great Pop Thomas and the Piazza’s in NEPA.
– Started to actually jump in her jumperoo… you should see her go!
– Celebrated her first valentine’s day at school with a party & valentines and even got a bouquet of flowers from her Daddy and brother’s.
– Did a lot of painting projects in school.
– Had her first bath in the kitchen sink.
– Had a sick day at home with Grammy T.
– Watched her first Super Bowl.
