Beach Bums

September 27, 2010

As promised… here are some more pictures from our Wildwood trip. To say the boys love the beach would be an understatement. They couldn’t get enough. It was hard to get them out of the water. They are total beach bums.

  1. I’m so excited! Benny pooped on the potty tonight! He’s only used the potty a few times and this is the first time he went #2! Unfortunately, my camera wasn’t near by so I didn’t get a chance to take pictures like I did with Owen, but I felt if it was blog worthy for Owen, it’s blog worthy for Benny.
  2. My heart was warmed by Owen tonight. When Benny had his potty success, Mike and I were cheering and Owen said to Benny with pure heartfelt seriousness, “Benny, I am so proud of you!”. Owen doesn’t say nice things like that to Benny often, so that really took me back. I was proud of Owen for acknowledging his brother like that.
  3. Owen started Soccer Shots tonight. It’s a great little program I found out about from a friend. It’s a soccer program for kids ages 3 to 6 that teaches them the fundamentals of the game, about team work, etc. Owen had a great time. It’s a 7 week program so I’m sure you’ll see pics of him in action soon.
  4. At 2 years old, Benny was as big as half the kids there. The coach thought he was there to play too. Wish he could… he wasn’t too happy he couldn’t join the rest of the kids. He tried to get right in line with them.
  5. When we went to the beach, I took over 1000 pictures over the 3 days. I’m still sifting through them and hope to post more soon.
  6. But here is one for now… our cute little family of four at sunset on the board walk.

  7. The beach isn’t the only event I’m behind on blogging. (I’ll get to it soon… I hope) We also went to a “Day Out With Thomas”. The boys were super happy to take a train ride pulled by Thomas and excited they got see their beloved #1 Blue Tank Engine live and in action. We even have some funny video of the boys playing instruments with the little band and each boy even took their turn at the mic… Owen singing Twinkle Twinkle and Benny trying to sing his ABC’s.
  8. Yesterday was my and Michael’s 7 year wedding anniversary. And get this… it was the first time in 7 years he was able to surprise me. I got a knock at my desk yesterday morning at work and there he was standing with a beautiful vase of flowers. What a guy. I had no clue. And for those who know me well, it’s VERY HARD to surprise me.
  9. We are in the process of doing a little redecorating in our family room and we got two great new additions… a 55 inch Samsung LED TV and a nice leather rocker/glider for me! =) It’s fabulous. We are all set for football, the new fall season of TV, and lots of movies/shows from Netflix. Oh and lots of cuddle/rocking time with my boys. They are fond of the new chair too. I love seeing them sit side by side in it.
  10. And because of Netflix, Mike and I have become big fans of the show “Rescue Me”. It’s a show about fire fighters. So, guess what the boys are being for Halloween… fire fighters. They decided they wanted to be the same thing so they could be “twins”. How dear.

The “Barn”

September 15, 2010

The condo we stayed at on vacation had an outdoor shower that had a wooden surround and wooden door. Benny thought this was the “barn” and he loved to go in the “barn” after coming back from the beach. It was hard to get him out of the shower and he liked to stay in there with the “barn door“ closed. He’d let the water hit his face, try to drink it, and jump in the puddles on the ground. The “barn” was one of this favorite parts of vacation.

2 for now…

September 6, 2010

At the end of August we spent a long weekend in Wildwood, NJ. We had a fabulous time. One night there I tried to take some nice photos of the boys on the beach. I only had about 60 seconds before they were waist deep in the water and covered in sand. The boys are total beach bums and are drawn like magnets to that water. But I got 2 good keepers. Here they are. Even though I didn’t get a lot, the one I got of them together is the exact picture I had in mind that I wanted to capture, so I’m a happy camper. I’ll try to post more from our vacation later this week.
